Okay, let’s be honest: Doom Match in Marvel Rivals is basically a magical mosh pit where 12 lunatics are shoved into Doctor Strange’s house and told to start swinging. I’ve been that lunatic. Season 1 introduced the Sanctum Sanctorum map, and since then this free-for-all inspired mode has become one of my favorite ways to ruin my own evening. You face 11 other players, get sorted into two teams, and the side with the most eliminations wins. Simple? Sure, until you get webbed, slept, hammered, and then told ‘AGAIN!’ by a man with a metal arm.
So what makes a hero good here? For me, it comes down to three things: survivability, mobility, and just enough damage to make someone regret walking through a doorway. A huge health pool won’t save you if you can’t chase kills, and a one-shot combo won’t matter if you’re dead before you can land it.
Here’s my completely scientific, definitely-not-copium ranking of the best Doom Match heroes in 2026.
The Quick Cheat Sheet
| Rank | Hero | Role | Vibe |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | Psylocke | Duelist | Edgy ninja who forgot her armor |
| 9 | Spider-Man | Duelist | Either Lord-tier or lost tourist |
| 8 | Peni Parker | Vanguard | Trap queen in a mech |
| 7 | Thor | Vanguard | Hammer time, every time |
| 6 | Mister Fantastic | Duelist | Stretchy and annoying |
| 5 | Mantis | Strategist | Sleepy little damage gremlin |
| 4 | Black Panther | Duelist | Cat-like reflexes, cat-like survivability? |
| 3 | Magik | Duelist | Brawler disguised as a cosplay |
| 2 | Iron Fist | Duelist | Wuxia protagonist with anger issues |
| 1 | Winter Soldier | Duelist | Again. Again. Again. |
Now let’s break down each one, starting from the bottom.
10. Psylocke — Now You See Me…

Look, I want to love Psylocke. She’s a psychic ninja with invisibility and shotgun-like psionic blasts. That sounds incredible on paper. In Doom Match, she can absolutely erase someone who never saw her coming. Her Ultimate deals heavy damage to anyone inside the circle, which is great for cleaning up a hallway full of squishy Duelists.
But here’s the problem: she’s made of wet paper. Her lack of survivability and strong escape tools turns her into a free elimination if you miss your opening. Her primary attack also has painfully limited range, so you have to be close, but not so close that a Thor hammer decides your skull is a nail. I’ve seen good Psylockes vanish and reappear like a horror movie villain, but for most of us, she’s a high learning curve wrapped in a target.
Play her if you enjoy sneaking, patience, and occasionally dying to random explosions you didn’t see coming.
9. Spider-Man — Amazing. Spectacular, Even.

There are two types of Spider-Man players. One insta-locks him and then swings directly into a wall. The other has Lord status and will make you uninstall. No in-between.
Spider-Man’s high mobility and burst damage make him an assassin, but his web-swinging is genuinely hard to master inside the Sanctum Sanctorum’s narrow halls. One wrong anchor and you’re stuck in a corner while Peni’s mines count down. His lack of range means you have to commit to fights, but that can be terrifying against a Vanguard who can stun you and squash the itsy-bitsy spider.
Learn your combos, pick your fights, and for the love of Strange, don’t try to 1v1 the glowing guy with the hammer.
8. Peni Parker — Patience Is A Virtue

Peni is a weird one. She’s a Vanguard who can become almost unkillable when standing on her Cyber Webs, with bonus health stacking up to 800. Her Arachno-Mines, Spider-Nest, and infinite web clusters let her lock down a room and stun anyone dumb enough to walk in.
In Doom Match, though, sitting in one spot only works if the other 11 players are polite enough to deliver themselves to you. They won’t. You need to be proactive and mobile, redeploying nests and mines every time you rotate. It’s like playing a tower defense game while your towers have commitment issues.
Still, if you can set up shop in a high-traffic area, Peni can rack up eliminations without ever leaving her web.
7. Thor — Practically Unkillable

Thor has gone through some tweaks, and as of 2026 he’s a melee powerhouse in sustained fights. He can gain shields from his Thor Force resource, and he has better mobility than Peni. His best defense is offense.
He’s terrible at range, so the Sanctum Sanctorum’s tight hallways are actually perfect for him. You want to get up close, run people down, and hammer them until they stop moving. The bonus health from his abilities keeps you alive longer than your enemies expect.
Just don’t chase a flying hero into an open room. That’s how you become target practice.
6. Mister Fantastic — Say That Again

Mister Fantastic is weirdly great in the Sanctum Sanctorum. His rubber arms give him a long projectile-based basic attack, and his Inflated state boosts his health and damage. If you build up that meter, you can win fights that should have been hopeless.
He struggles against multiple enemies because his only real defensive tool, Reflexive Rubber, absorbs damage and reflects it back, but it won’t save you from a three-hero pileup. The only way out is through victory. I love that in a man shaped like a household cleaning product.
Use Flexible Elongation to close gaps and gain bonus health, then Distended Grip to knock enemies into the air and trigger Inflated. It’s the only time being called stretchy is a compliment.
5. Mantis — Time To Sleep

Mantis is proof that Strategists can absolutely fight. Her basic attack deals 50 damage and can crit, so with good aim she can out-shoot most melee heroes. Consuming Life Orbs with Natural Anger increases her damage and gives healing over time, creating a loop of satisfying, self-sustaining gunplay.
If someone gets too close, Spore Slumber puts them to sleep, which is both hilarious and effective. Her Ultimate keeps her health up longer, giving you time to escape or finish the fight.
The catch? You need excellent aim and low lag. If you miss, you’re just a very calm person about to be punched by Iron Fist.
4. Black Panther — Silent Like A Cat

Black Panther is one of the hardest heroes to master, but once you learn him, you become a blur of claws. His Vibranium Mark refreshes ability cooldowns and heals a bit, letting you chain attacks through entire groups. His passive gives bonus damage at low health, so sometimes you can eke out a kill even when you’re about to collapse.
His goal is to find lone enemies, pick them off, and escape with Spinning Kick or Spirit Rend. You need to stay mobile, toss your spear, lunge in, and never stop moving. In the open you’re dead, but in the Sanctum’s tight corners, Panther can feel unstoppable.
3. Magik — En Garde!

Magik is the best brawler for people who like to invade personal space. She gains bonus health from damage dealt, and her Stepping Discs let her slip in and out of the plane before unleashing huge melee strikes. Her attacks are slower, but each one hits like a truck.
Her Ultimate, Darkchild, makes her much deadlier, though she isn’t invincible. Use Umbral Incursion to close distance, then chain basic attack, pommel strike, and Magik Slash. If they’re still alive, Eldritch Whirl will usually finish them. If not, summon an imp with Demon’s Rage and make it their problem.
Playing Magik in Doom Match feels like playing a hack-and-slash game while everyone else is playing a shooter.
2. Iron Fist — Just Like Your Favorite Wuxia Films

Iron Fist is a nightmare. He closes distance instantly, blocks your attacks with Dragon’s Defense, and then pummels you into dust. His Harmony Recover gives bonus health before fights, and his triple jumps plus K’un Lun Kick let him chase almost anyone—even flying heroes like Iron Man or Storm, because his target lock is absolutely disrespectful.
In Doom Match, you should heal for bonus health before every engagement, drop in from above or below, and surprise your target with punches. When they react, block and get a damage boost, then kick them into the respawn screen.
The only downside is range, but the Sanctum Sanctorum’s cramped rooms make that less of an issue. This man was born for 1v1s.
1. Winter Soldier — Again! Again! Again!

And the crown goes to Bucky Barnes. The Winter Soldier is an absolute monster in Doom Match. His hand cannon reloads with every bionic arm ability, and those abilities also give him Bonus Health even when he whiffs. That’s right: he gets rewarded for trying.
His Ultimate, Kraken Impact, applies a debuff and can be recast within eight seconds if an enemy is eliminated. In the Sanctum Sanctorum’s small rooms, enemies bunch up, letting you chain ‘Again!’ like a broken record. It is glorious.
He’s not fast, but he doesn’t need to be. He just walks through doorways, grapples someone, and starts a highlight reel. If you want rapid KOs and maximum tilt factor, Winter Soldier is your guy.
So there you have it. My entirely biased, battle-scarred guide to the best Doom Match heroes in Marvel Rivals. Pick Winter Soldier if you like easy dopamine. Pick Iron Fist if you enjoy punching. And please, if you see a beautiful glowing field of enemies, just remember: in the Sanctum Sanctorum, nobody can hear you scream. They can, however, hear ‘AGAIN!’.
